A residence in rural Ohio located on a gently sloping hill overlooking farmland and forest. Relocating a historic barn timber-frame structure and adapting it to contemporary living.
Weaving the curvilinear field geometries of the landscape into the rigorous rectilinear structures of human habitation. Clustering discrete volumes of family activity around a grand collective space overlooking the valley below. Bringing in the landscape with color from the planting, form from the farm topography and natural light from careful orientation and manipulation of surface and space.
